Join Cat and Dot for this fun, hands-on fabric dyeing workshop at Public Works Art Center. Design and paint a 100% cotton, hand-dyed wall-hanging using natural soy wax and custom dyes, using the traditional batik wax resist method.
Workshop Details:
Receive step by step instructions for sketching your design, adding embellishments, and applying your wax with tons of examples and templates to trace or transfer
Choose from 2 custom mixed color options for dyeing
Everyone will take home a 10”x 36” wall hanging along with a dowel rod and natural twine for hanging ~ everything you need to make a complete piece of wall art!
We will be providing snacks and refreshments, feel free to bring a bottle of wine if you desire
There will be a 20 minute break time while our wall hangings are setting in the dye baths. Feel free to explore the gallery while we wait!
All materials provided, please wear your finest crafting clothes as fabric dye is known to stain ;)
